Rosie's Dog Beach — 5000 E Ocean Blvd, Long Beach, CA 90803
Rosie's Dog Beach is the only off-leash dog beach in Los Angeles County, making it a special destination for beach-loving pups and their owners. Here, dogs can frolic in the surf, play in the sand, and enjoy the freedom of an off-leash experience with the stunning backdrop of the Pacific Ocean. It's a fantastic place for dogs to socialize and exercise, and for owners to soak up the sun and enjoy the coastal scenery.El Dorado Park Dog Park — 7550 E Spring St, Long Beach, CA 90815
El Dorado Park Dog Park is a popular 1.5-acre off-leash dog park with mostly grass ground covering, some sand, and lots of trees, and it’s fully fenced-in. It has a double-gated entry, waste stations, water stations, drinking fountains, and benches for the humans to sit and relax on. Plus, there are separate fenced-in sections for large and small dogs to play with pups their own size.
This dog park is open in the fall and winter from 7 AM to 5 PM (from November 1- February 28). And in the spring and summer, it’s open from 7 AM to 8 PM (from March 1 - October 31). But keep in mind that El Dorado Park Dog Park is closed every Tuesday from 7 AM to 11 AM for maintenance.
Also, most of the dog parks in Long Beach are a part of the Parks and Recreation department of the City of Long Beach. So it’s best to take a glance at their Park Rules page before you visit.
Gayle Carter Uptown Dog Park — 4600 Long Beach Blvd, Long Beach, CA 90805
Uptown Dog Park—now known as Gayle Carter Uptown Dog Park—is loved by many of the locals in Long Beach and is open daily from dawn until dusk, all year round. This fully fenced-in, 0.7-acre off-leash dog park provides separate sections for small and large dogs, as well as waste stations, water stations, benches, picnic tables, large shade trees, and large cement objects that dogs can run around or even jump on top of.
This dog park was renamed after Gayle Carter after her passing in 2017. According to LongBeach.gov: “She established the Friends of Uptown Dog Park and helped to open dog parks at Jackson and Coolidge Parks. She arranged for dog obedience and agility classes, and spay and neuter clinics to be held at the park… She was known for helping to raise money to help people experiencing homelessness take care of their dogs.”
Recreation Park Dog Park — 5201 E 7th St, Long Beach, CA 90804
Recreation Park Dog Park is a 2-acre, fully fenced-in, off-leash dog park. You’ll find large shade trees, benches, water stations, waste stations, and large tree logs that dogs can use as canine agility equipment by jumping and climbing on them. The ground covering is a mixture of sand and grass. And Recreation Park Dog Park is open daily from dawn until dusk.
Bixby Dog Park — 130 Cherry Ave, Long Beach, CA 90802
Bixby Dog Park is a peaceful yet popular 0.43-acre off-leash dog park that is fully fenced-in. It provides large shade trees, waste stations, water stations, benches, and large logs for dogs to climb and jump on. The ground covering is a mixture of grass, mulch, and sand. It also has separate fenced-in sections for small and large dogs. And it is open every day, year-round, from 6 AM to 10 PM. But it may be closed on Mondays before noon for maintenance.
Wrigley Heights Dog Park — 3401 Golden Ave, Long Beach, CA 90806
Wrigley Heights Dog Park is open year-round from 6 AM to 10 PM every day. But it may be closed on Monday before noon for maintenance. This 1.9-acre off-leash dog park is fully fenced-in with a combination of grass, sand, and mulch for the ground covering. Wrigley Heights Dog Park also provides a double-gated entry, waste stations, water stations, benches, and large shade trees. There is more than enough open space here for your pup to run and play freely.
Seaside Dog Zone — 450 E Seaside Way, Long Beach, CA 90803
Seaside Dog Zone is a 0.45-acre long, narrow dog run that is completely fenced-in, where dogs can run and play off-leash. Here, you’ll find numerous pieces of canine agility equipment where dogs can get physical exercise and mental stimulation. The ground covering is a mix of grass, mulch, and sand. It also has a double-gated entry and separate sections for small and large dogs. And there are some shade trees around the outside of the fence.
Seaside Dog Zone is open every day, year-round, from 6 AM to 10 PM, and it’s located right near the East Village Arts District. This is a popular spot for nearby residents to bring their dogs for exercise and socialization.
Coolidge Dog Park — 335 E Coolidge St, Long Beach, CA 90805
Coolidge Dog Park is a 0.25-acre dog park that is open every day from dawn until dusk, year-round. This dog park is ADA accessible and has a double-gated entry, separate sections for small and large dogs, waste stations, water stations, and benches for the humans to enjoy. And remember, dogs must be vaccinated and licensed to play here and at all Long Beach dog parks.
Marine Stadium Park — 5255 Paoli Way, Long Beach, CA 90803
Marine Stadium Park is unique due to its location right next to the famous Marine Stadium waterway, where various water sports events take place. The park itself offers a lovely dog-friendly area where pets must remain on-leash. Jackson Street Dog Park is ADA accessible, and this park provides waste stations, water stations, and benches where people can sit and relax while their dogs go crazy!
K-9 Corner Dog Park — 906 Pacific Ave, Long Beach, CA 90813
K-9 Corner Dog Park is 0.8 acres in size and is open every day of the year from 6 AM to 10 PM. This dog park is fully fenced-in and is “environmentally friendly by using drought tolerant landscaping and generating 100% of its electricity on-site with solar energy.” K-9 Corner Dog Park is beautifully landscaped with paved walking paths, manicured flowers and bushes, large shade trees and shade structures, well-maintained turf grass and mulch areas, evening lighting, and a high-quality fence with a double-gated entry.
This dog park also provides waste stations, water stations, and benches. Plus, it has fun canine agility equipment for pups to climb and run on and separate sections for small and large dogs. Because of its above-and-beyond design, it has become quite the popular spot for pups and their pet parents.
